A Shropshire care company is pressing ahead with ambitious expansion plans aimed at taking pressure off the NHS and increasing its potential for the care of more people in their own homes.
CLCA, based on Battlefield Enterprise Park in Shrewsbury, already works closely with the NHS and other private hospitals in providing nurses and other healthcare professionals to hospitals. It also provides nursing and personal care to children and adults living at home.
The company says its programme for growth should help ease the growing burden faced by the NHS.
Andy Connell, of CLCA, said: “These are exciting times. We already have partnerships with the NHS and other private facilities and hospitals and are aiming to increase that level of involvement still further.
“The services we aim to build on in providing essential staff, and our commitment to caring for more patients in transition from hospital to home, should help to take some of the burden off the NHS, especially during busy period like the Winter months.
“At a time when the NHS is overspending and struggling to keep up with its obligations and the service it provides, we feel it is vital to ensure that we are seen as that vital link which offers a more affordable option for the NHS while still providing top quality care from a premier agency.
“The NHS should be including us more as it strives to reduce its deficit, we have already helped to do that in Powys and the benefits to the health service are clear. We now need to push on and do the same thing in other areas.
“CLCA was recently rated as ‘good’ in all five areas after an inspection by the Care Quality Commission – a very pleasing result and something we will endeavour to build on in the future.
“The company is principally concerned with two areas, providing healthcare professionals to the NHS and others and the provision of care to patients at home. But they are often linked as we also care for those going home from hospital – ensuring a smooth transition and freeing up hospital beds in the process.
“All this requires the highest quality staff and we are fortunate to have the best. Our managing director Cherry Adams has the knowledge and background to continue and develop our success and is very ambitious in terms of the company’s future.”
